Default 3D and DLP Question

Ok, I'm tired of asking Samsung how this works. I've got a 3D-ready HL56A650 and a PS3. Right now, Samsung is selling third party hardware/software that goes through your PC for 3D. My question is, how will this work when PS3 gets 3D support? Will my TV just project the 3D signal or am I out of luck without buying some software?

I'm not planning on buying into this whole 3D thing, just was wondering if it's a bonus I can cheaply capitalize on. I'm not going to be buying a new TV or anything, especially when I love this one so much.

You will need to purchase a 3D adapter, to be sold by Mitsubishi (model 3DC-1000), that will accept 3D inputs from Blu-ray 3D players and other 3D sources including Directv and Cable TV boxes, and convert these to the unique 'checkboard' 3D signal format used for the Samsung and Mitsubishi DLP projectors. This adapter box is expected to be available for purchase in the June 2010 time frame. HERE is a link for more information.

I was looking into the glasses tech to and it appears that the XpanD X102's are probably going to be the route to go for DLP tvs. Since a lot of the others only work with one specific brand.

I was looking into getting a Mits 65 or 73 and wanted to know what was the deal with their 3D tech...So I might have to update the firmware of the TV and of course get the appropriate 3D accessories...Does anyone know if Mits 3D tech is similar to what is coming out now or is it totally last gen tech...Also does anyone have experienced the blu 3D like MonsterVsAliens, Coraline, Polar Express, Journey To The Center of The Earth and etc on their set??? Thoughts???

Mitsubishi is releasing an Adaptor for HDMI 1.4 3D Blu-ray players. That way, you can watch BD3D movies on your Mitsubishi DLP. It won't be exactly the same, but you'll still be using the same type of glasses. I believe the company creating glasses for the Mitsubishi DLP TVs is XpanD.

The technology is similar, except that it uses a Checkerboard method instead of a Side-by-Side method.

As for the BD movies you listed, none of them use the new 3D system. Instead they use the anaglyph method-which will give you a headache. I recommend just waiting for those films to get rereleased because the 3D versions currently available on those are a waste of time.

Thanks for the info...I haven't picked up any of those 3D movies yet because I'm still waiting for a good deal on a Mits 65/73...Do you know if the PS3 will be compatible with the Mits for the 3D tech or will it depend on the firmware the PS3/Mits will have??? I don't want to invest on another player and accessories, then ended up with a dead/limited tech like the HD-Dvd...
