Default Acoustic Reality Experience

I see that for example this Acoustic Reality Experience BD was originally released by Philips Classics as an SACD, with surround.

I wonder if anyone knows whether the BD versions have been completely remixed or whether they faithfully reproduce the original surround recording?

Thanks for the link. I am sure it's a very fine release.

My question is not addressed in the review. Perhaps you can answer it directly? It is a rather specific one: have you simply converted the original soundfield recording to 7.1 or have you done something artificial with the acoustic according to your taste? (I don't know how purist the original soundfield recording was in the first place.)

best
Nic

The original Phillips SACD release was 4.0 done in the beginning of the decade, Besides many things described by Terrance in his review I can add that
Using the advantages of 7.1 media I was able to produce better definition of Mullova violin as well as to complement this outstanding material recorded previously for Decca by greater perception of natural hall acoustics in additional surround channels.

Thanks. Did you work from the 4.0 or from multitrack with surround channels?

I am very curious to compare the two versions of the surround...

I am always work from originals,

the question is, many engineers back then were concern about using center channel for classical recordings interms of backwards issues with stereo system however in soloist orchestra performance delivered in surround sound it is very important to underscore the performer in center channel to provide the real dimension of sound experience and in the same time to expend the hall acoustics in additional surround channels that gives it naturally very dramatic effect.

This is the definite key points in comparing the surround sound for this title to previous release
But you will hear more then that, I guarantee

All the Best ,

Alexander
