Default Anyone get that jaw dropping feeling

Heya. I just got may PS3 and started into buying flicks. I always knew the prices were abit higher but my god... to be double. I just checked out Lost season 3 and a,azon has it for 86.95 compared to 38.99 for regular. Maybe i just need to find a better place to shop or compare. I've been reading some posts with regards to imports (like transformers), is there anywhere with better prices for things like lost? Any help would be great. Thx

Box sets are the most significant increase in price. If you look in the "Hot Deals" area, you'll see that the prices for regular movies are very close to the DVD price.

It varies.
The two disc Blu-ray version of Pirates 3 is cheaper on Amazon than the two disc DVD version.

The Blu-ray of Lost Season 3 vs. the DVD.
10 times better audio, 6 times better picture and only 2.23 times the price.

sorry. you won't find very much cheaper for lost at this time. if you go to frys.com i believe you can still get some cheap blu-rays for 13.50. you can try buy.com, amazon.com, probably deepdiscount, sendit.com, hdaddicts.com(?). as always, keep checking the fourms. someone will post to let people know where the best deals are.

And then you'll end up spending hard earned cash on 20 blu-rays in 1 week like me.

Just keep your eye on Amazon for the box set. The Spiderman Trilogy has ranged from 89 buck 64 bucks. The box set could fall in price in the future.

Thx. Only problem with some of the sites are the shipping. Plus sometimes i get nailed for duty ( suks). I've already bought 6 movies and had the PS3 about 1 week. gonna go broke for sure lol
Glad i went BD though. Was quite the discussion with my freinds who have Xbox and wanted me to get that and the HD DVD add. Plus with the paramount deal. They all swear i'm wastin my money.

But i just couldn't settle for second best. In the end BD will win that i'm sure of.

That's just the way TV shows are, but don't feel bad HD-DVD has the same problems.
Heroes DVD $39.99 vs HD-DVD 69.95
Star Trek TOS Season 1 DVD $67.39 vs. HD-DVD 138.95

Amazon price are usually close to the cheapest you'll find. (Well, for me at least.) FRY'S usually has good prices but you have to have one close to you. (I don't)

I don't have a Fry's close to me. I live in Canada (windsor to be exact) and we don't really have any good discount stores around. Thats why i was wondering how to get cheaper and titles (such as transformers) on blu ray online.

BD Box Sets are priced very high compared to DVD. However, regular Blu-rays are only about $5-$10 higher than regular DVDs. It's worth an extra $5 to upgrade to Blu-ray. The sound and picture quality are superior to standard DVDs.
