Disney Pearl Harbor (2001)

I watched Pearl Harbor on BLU last night and it sure looked nice.

The movie was a 3 of 5 for me (all the overblown romance lines hurt the film).

I really enjoyed the 30-whatever minutes when the Japanese flew into Pearl Harbor.

The detail was outstanding.

Can't wait to see the BLU version of Letters from Iwo Jima.

Both are stunning films that look awesome on blu. Pearl Harbor has to be one of the best looking out there. I agree as well I just went to the attack scene I was like I dont want to see romance this is an action flick.

My wife loves the whole film, so I was stuck.

Some of the romance is fine for the story, but damn they overdid it. Each line feels like a cheesy advertisement for the latest perfume.

I'm watching the other film tonight. I have about 25 unopened Blu-rays and counting. Time to get busy.

Michael Bay's 'Pearl Harbor', the story of how the Japanese bombed an American Love Triangle. My girlfriend loves this movie, I get to watch it frequently. I am not a big fan of the film, I bought it so she wouldn't be so mad that I spent $3000 on a television.

Funny thing I'm as female and really I cant stand romances and crap like that. Give me an action movie any day of the week before a romance. It's kinda like watching a comedy in HD as well whats the point ya know.

My wife and I watched the Prestige last night and the clips of Pearl Harbor shown in the BD preview were impressive. Shame about the story but we may end up getting it eventually.

This was like my second purchase or maybe third BD. I love everything about this movie. I know the romance sometimes gets a bit overplay but i still like it . Then again i like anime.

Saw PH last nite.
No question about it...one of the best looking BDs out there.

Would have been a better movie if some of the romantic melodrama was cut back.
However, still gets a "thumbs up" from me.

Default The movie is a joke

Nothing worse than a movie that's supposed to depict a defining moment in history that completely ignores all the facts. Nothing in the piece of junk has anything to do with the actual events of Dec 7th or the raid on Tokyo. Even the real ships that were used in parts of the attack are 1960s vintage.

I would like to see this for 9.99 during U&S

I too will watch once a year and for 4.99 it is worth it. I agree with the poster that said MB tried too hard on this one.

The romance would have been fine if they titled it something else, just like another famous movie did (if I name it then ill give away the ending, you know the one with the kissing scene while the waves crash over them).

I agree with this as well. I felt the same way about Titanic to be honest.

Will that movie ever be released on BD in our lifetime?

Have to admit Pearl Harbour is a bit of a guilty pleasure but until criterion do it justice with the special edition it so deserves I'll be giving this vanilla release a miss.
