Default Underworld: Unrated LPCM audio question

Has anyone who has this BD noticed that the LPCM soundtrack is a little lower in volume than the Dolby Digital soundtrack? Seems a bit quieter overall to me. Is this intentional? I haven't had an opportunity to crank my home theatre during this yet-can't get the wife & kids to cooperate (although I've been told duct tape can be useful here ) but I'm curious to hear if any of you have noticed this.

I got the same problem with Chris Botti Live BD the LPCM is less sounding than the dolby track why is that? is it the dolby decoding adding more to the track sound stage? Im using Denon AVR-5803A PCM connection and Optical for dolby tracks? Anyone?

Are you listening to both the PCM and the Dolby track through HDMI or analog outs with no other connection hooked up - ie, no optical cable connected.

I have always found a difference of about 10dB when switching from digital coaxial for Dolby and DTS where my receiver does all the decoding to analogs for SACD and DVD-Audio when my player does the decoding.

My Panny DMP-BD10A goes HDMI to my plasma, but the audio goes to a Parasound C1 controller (only gripe with it is no HDMI input).

use the 7.1 Analog Inputs...

you will need 3 sets of these analog cables

...simply connect from the back of the Panasonic DMP-BD10A analog "output" connections to the analog "input" connections of your Parasound C1. Lossless audio.

(if this is how you already have it set, please disreguard)

Yes, this is exactly how its connected. I guess the Dolby soundtrack is compressed, I'll have to turn up the vol a bit and give a really good listen...anybody have a suugestion to get rid of the wife & kids for a few hours? lol

Dolby Dgital soundtracks are usually compressed their dynamic range. So average sound level seems to a bit louder.
