Default PS3 Audio question on LPCM

Here is my problem, I am using HDMI out for my PS3, connecting to the HDTV, while connecting optical cable to my pre-amplifier/processor. Since the output is bitstream, I cannot enjoy the uncompressed multi channels soundtracks. My pre-amp is nice, but it doesn't have HDMI input, and I have no plans to replace it.

So my question is, is there any components or setup that would help me to listen to LPCM audio from PS3, or am I screwed until I buy a new pre-amp?

pretty sure the only way you can get multichannel pcm is by hdmi...so yeah you would need a new receiver......if you decide to get one...wait for HDMI 1.3

The Onkyo 605 is the first HDMI 1.3 receiver in the market with Dolby TrueHD and DTS HDMA decoding and it's already out now. Price is US$399 at J&R Music.

I wonder if the new Onkyos will support 1080/24p pass-through.
24p will become an increasingly bigger deal as time goes on...
