external hard drives - Blu-ray Forum

since im probably gonna get a external hard drive soon i was wondering if there was a way that you could make the ps3 not recognise it a a external usb hard drive and think of it like the internal or it might already do this i don't really know

No it detects it as a USB drive, you can't get it to detect as the internal, but you can upgrade the internal to 250GB.

unfortunately there is no way to make your ps3 recognise it as internal. Your best bet is to go for an internal laptop drive, and replace your original PS3 HDD.
