Arrow Step Up All In - 11/4/14

Amazon Pre-order up of STEP UP ALL IN:

Step Up All In Blu-ray

Doesn't look to be available in 3D like the last ones.

No 3D? That's a shame. I really enjoyed the 3D in this one much like I did for Step Up 3.

Either way, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this sequel was. I have it at #2 behind Step Up 2 The Streets. Loved the mixture of old cast mates and newbies. And Briana Evigan was looking HOT in her return. Especially in those dance/workout pants.

If the price is right, day 1 for me.

Last time the standard edition had 2D and 3D on the same disc, seeing as there's no art or detailed information I wouldn't at this point conclude that is not the case again this time.

Love this one, for me I'd put it behind Step Up 3D as my second favorite in the series. I just saw it for the second time (in 3D, incorrectly projected in scope at a second run theater) and it was just as much fun as it was the first time (if not as visually or conceptually ambitious as Step Up Revolution, which despite its ambitions was a somewhat lackluster Step Up movie). It's a shame this will likely be the last Step Up film.

Long live Moose!

These movies are a guilty pleasure for me, and I only started enjoying them after the third movie, when they stopped taking themselves so seriously, and just went full-on out with elaborate dance sequences. It'd suck if they didn't release this one in 3D, as that was one of the main reasons I bought the last 2 in the first place.

So, it's been confirmed that they're not releasing this in 3D

I like the artwork for the slipcover, but the omission of the 3D is a disappointment as I felt, like the 3rd installment, this outing had some 3D effects that really popped out nicely during dance sequences. Oh well....

That's actually when they started going bad. The first movie is great, the second is tolerable. But after that, they were all crap.

Just ordered from Amazon UK along with Malificent. Also got The Lego Movie since even with shipping from there, it's still cheaper than the US edition.

I know about Atmos. But the site here says 24/96, that true?

From other reviews, it looks like it might be movie standard 24/48.

Last time I checked, Dolby Atmos projects has to be 24/48. Nothing higher.

I'm just wondering if the 24/96 is a separate TrueHD track. Did anyone do a BD info scan on this?

Atmos can be 24/96, but as a rule it's not on Blu-ray because the file size could get unruly.

There isn't a separate TrueHD track.

To be honest, unless you have the cleanest and most accurate lab grade electronics and speakers, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between 24/48 and 24/96 recordings.

According to this PDF manual, it appears Dolby Atmos is limited to 24/48. I apologize for the long URL.

Here is the home Atmos white paper.

http://www.dolby.com/us/en/technolog...me-theater.pdf

Page 13 describes that consumer Atmos tracks can be encoded at 48 kHz or 96 kHz sampling and 16 or 24 resolution bit depths using the TrueHD lossless codec.

96 kHz would normally be used in the industry for music only soundtracks.

I got my copy from Amazon.co.uk on Friday, and I watched it over the weekend.

I feel like the 3D wasn't SUPER-deep, but it was still cool. The only problems were that the 3D in the main menu was backwards, but luckily the movie was normal. Except for one shot when they go to pick up the robot dancer guy and the 3D just kind of goes kerflooey. Luckily it's brief.

I guess I can't really complain after going through all the trouble to import the UK Blu-ray since they didn't release it in 3D in the US...
