Default *ALL* of my Blu-ray Discs got internally damaged. *FIXED*

I recently moved my DVD/Blu-ray collection to basement (it was huge), along with cabinet of course. After a week or so, I put in a Blu-ray movie and it didn't work. I tried another, didn't work. I checked the back of those discs, they have waves on them (like they're wet or something). NOTHING WORKED! What the hell happened? No one touches my collection. The basement stays very cold, could that be the reason? If so, what a terrible disc. I have lost so much money. WTF.

My DVDs are still fine.
These discs were not near any source of heat or radiator.

I really hope there's a solution for this, I have 30+ discs. I'd hate to lose so much money.

Registered here to ask this question.. can someone help me out?!

That was my first thought. Borrow or buy another BD and see what happens.

If the cold is the problem, you can always put them in the microwave for a few minutes before playing them. DO NOT boil them though (that's an HD DVD combo approved and ant recommended procedure for that format only).

yeah I heard of someone having their PS3 stop reading discs..

you never stated what you are watching your movies on in your original post...

it's either..

a)your blu-rays are actually internally damaged
b)your PS3/BD player has crapped out and stopped reading discs
c)both
d)you're a Troll

I just can't seem to figure this one out..

The data is packed in a far greater density on a BR disc than DVD.
So you can see how temp can easily effect it.

Even with the hard coating a little bit of finger print grease could make a disc unreadable until you clean it off. Just an example of how sensitive the laser is.

I hope its just a temp issue.

It's got to be the player. I suggest that you take a few of your movies to a local Blu-ray dealer and do some further testing.

ive gotten melted chocolate icecream on my discs before (dont ask) and they played fine, when I pulled the disc out after finishing it looked super dirty, so I just cleaned it and put it back.

Can you post a HQ picture of one of the discs? I'd want to see the situation first-hand.

You already thought of my ideas... heat, cold, etc. What is your Blu-Ray player? Is it the same player that plays regular DVD's just fine?
