PS3 demo question - Blu-ray Forum

I like to download the free game demos from the PS store (who doesn't?).

I am wondering if I can download the install files (the package you download) and save them to my external HDD. That way I can bring the install files to my brother's house and install them onto his PS3 from the external HDD without him spending all his time doing the downloading (slow connection)...

anybody have any thoughts on that?

You can save files to whatever source you have available. Ive downloaded stuff to SD cards and USB sticks before, dont see why it wouldnt work with a USB HDD.

I've noticed that when I download a demo from the PSN Store, it does not give me the option to download it to a USB hard drive or any other external storage. I think Sony does it this way because the PSN Store may not differentiate between a demo and a purchased product. In order to accomplish this you may have to do some 'hacking' on the PS3's internal HDD to get to the games and then transfer them over.
