will sony ar21s laptop playback blu-ray disc movies?
as i am planning to buy one. please can someone clarify.

It wil play MPEG2 (not MPEG4) movies to its built-in (great) screen. It will not output protected content on HDMI unless it is to a screen that is compatible with protected format (very few screens are).

i have a sony ar21s and it plays blu-ray disc movies perfect! just open up InterVideo WinDVD BD that comes prenstalled on the laptop to view the movie....hope that helps

Hi all,

When i play a region B movie and open up the win dvd blu ray program i get a message that says Mismatch between disc and player region codes.

I have a uk VAIO AR21S.

Anyone know why its saying that and how to fix it?

must be because you have a Region A drive/software?

and what about ar590e...does this play mpeg4 ??/!!!

whether it can play or not depend on your software (windvd, powerdvd).

region problem, maybe try anydvdhd ?

AR590E is american version of AR51SU. So if AR51SU plays, then it's OK.
AnyDVD HD is a great program BTW (thanks Ich).

instead get AR-51SU..... better

the one ending in "1", i believe it's eu model, while "S" maybe indicate BD capability
