Exclamation The Universal BD Support Petition thread

I have made a petition to help Universal Studios decide to support Blu-ray format.
It will be send to Universal Studios Home Entertainment to help them decide to release on this great HD format "Blu-ray", which most people and world companys choose for HD standard!

We want to see movies on Blu-ray media from Universal!

Please sign here. It takes only several seconds to do.

I will get a Blu-ray PC drive very soon...

And i want to watch all movies on it. No only from 95% of the studios but all of them. That why i want Universal (the last undecided studio) to jump into Blu already

I'm not voting. Petitions are used as a last resort. Vote with your wallet and Universal will come over when they see how much they are losing in sales.

I remember when people made fun of the guy on avs for doing something like this... Always love to see how some people can do things that others cant.

This is just exactly to make their petition looking lame and not to have any effect actually...

A petition is fine, if it is worded toward those it is intended to infuence. The studios know about the war. They know their business. They have far more information about what is happening technically and business-wise than any of us. What they may not know is the interest and passion of the consumer.

So, it can be very simple:

"We the undersigned, who are supporters of the Blu-ray movie disc format, wish to congratulate Universal on their excellent support and quality of HD DVD releases, and would like to strongly encourage Universal to begin releasing titles in the Blu-ray format."

Nothing more is needed.

Now "the other" petition is really a thinly veiled anti-BD propaganda diatribe, now wrapped with a site dedicated to much, much more of the same. How would anyone actually think that telling the studios they are putting out crap on BD would get them to start putting out HD DVD titles?

Eight months and 2000 signatures? I can just see Disney whacking their foreheads how stupid they were. Two thousand lost sales!

I agree.

This petition is ********. In fact, internet petitions ARE ******** (even if we think we can gain hope from it).

This is almost as ******* ******** as the one that "rdjam" put over at AVS.

If you want to tell Universal to switch, then try voting with your wallet.

Save some money, go buy Blu-ray titles from supporting studios, buy players (like the PS3), write reviews (to public sites and whatnot), tell your friends/family/relatives to go with Blu-ray (the true successor to DVD) and lastly, e-mail Universal to support Blu-ray.

Those are the best ways to get their support. And not through a ******* online petition.

Exactly right.

And that reason alone is why I'm 100 percent confident that Universal will at least start supporting both formats within the next 6-12 months, regardless of anything else.

It's bad, foolhardy business to ignore BD even now when you get down to it.

I'm supporting Blu-ray with my wallet, but I also was the 3rd person to sign the petition.
I've seen two names come up from sending off an email about it as well. #4 and #30

Default Universal BD support petition

Theres a petition for Universal support at that other site. (www.FUD.com):)
Not sure if its allowed to link here...and I don't particularly want to feel any mods wrath here again

Anyway....its a straight forward petition without all the lies and FUD from the hd dvd petitions we have seen....so I signed it even though I don't believe these petitions mean much.

If its allowed...maybe somone else could link it.

Petitions are for the weak and powerless, which is why it looks perfect in the HD-DVD forums. Its totally out of place for blu-ray.

I still think a simple petition, signed by a LOT of people would be useful.

But, in typical HD DVD fashion, Downer's argument for why studios should support HD DVD has more to do with complaining about BD, than supporting HD DVD.

A Universal petition? I'm against any sort of petition to get the remaining 10% of the movie studios to release movies on the blu-ray. We all know they will. I agree, we are not "weak" or "powerless" and don't need one. Universal will jump ship eventually and we'll all get our Jurassic parks, fast n furious, king kongs, etc etc.

Default The Universal BD Support Petition thread

I have started a petition for Universal Studios to support Blu-ray and release their films on the Blu-ray format. I think this will help the consumer as then Blu-ray will be supported by all major studios, most of which are exclusive. It just seems a lot more logical to have Universal go neutral, then trying to get the 5 BD studios to go neutral. To me this is the best thing for the consumer, get this format war over with as quickly as possible.

To sign the petition, click on the following link:
