Better PQ: I am Legend or I Robot? - Blu-ray Forum

After my wife and I watched I am Legend last night we were debating which one had the better PQ. My wife says I am Legend while I still favor I Robot. Just curious what other people think?

well they are both 5 star video and audio. however, i do think I, Robot is a 'better' 5 star. It's the best I've seen yet, and I've seen a LOT. I Am Legend might have some better scenes for high def, but that doesn't mean the pq is necessarily any better.

IMO it is a tie. Both are 5 star and both are excellent must have BD's.

I'd have to go with I, Robot. Fantastic color saturation.

Thanks for the info I was wondering how I-Robot looked on blu-ray. I thought I am Legend Looked great!

Looks like I Robot might runaway with this. It's a shame to compare the two because they are fantastic in every way.

For me the PQ on I Robot is noticeably better than I Am Legend. Still, they are both extremely good.

Truthfully, I think there is a little bit of a bias here with everybody knowing that I, Robot was an AVC transfer. VC-1 proved it can be a great picture. Obviously, I voted that they look as good as each other.

I am Legend is a bit disappointing, in terms of picture quality, when compared to I, Robot. Legend is a bit soft and not as sharp.

I haven't seen I, Robot yet but I Am Legend has extremely good PQ yet I will probably be buying I, Robot within the next couple of weeks

I agree. I am Legend was not as sharp. I think it is almost entirely due to the lower bitrate VC-1 Encode. If WB gave us a 25+Mbps VC-1 encode instead of around 16MBps. I gaurantee the PQ would be much sharper and detailed.

Irobot by far. There are some scenes in I am legend that look great, but its not nearly as consistent as Irobot. That whole movie looks fantastic.

That's my feeling also. I,Robot just seemed to have more pop to it. Nothing wrong with the PQ of Legend, but I think it could have been a little bit sharper. I, Robot couldn't be any better than what it is.
