I, Robot or I Am Legend? Which Will Smith movie makes a better Blu-ray?? - Blu-ray Forum

All -

Which is the better Will Smith movie to own on blu-ray? I've seen I, Robot already and I like it, and I've heard from people that I am Legend wasn't as good as expected. When I mean which will be better, I don't mean just the movie itself, but also how it would benefit from blu-ray.

both are good movies... Haven't heard anything about PQ or AQ, let alone specs... can't make the call now. Both will be purchased on release day

I enjoyed I, Robot, but didn't care for I am Legend.
I am L had some of the worst special effects I've ever seen, excluding the movies made fun of on Mystery Science Theater.
The creatures that were supposed to be frightening were comical and goofy looking.

Specs of actual discs aside, which looks better visually and has a lot of surround sound effects?

Absolutely positively surely truly please-ly i'mtellin'you-ly get both. It would be stupid to own a Blu-Ray player and be without I Am Legend. The movie is great, the ending is the only part that was debatable.

In addition.. I Robot sounds totally deadly on surround sound. Much more action and ear candy in I Robot.

His acting skills have certainly approved over time. His performace in I am Legend was amazing.

I, Robot gets my vote between the two as well. Not that I didn't enjoy I am Legend, but I definitely feel I, Robot has more re-watchability

agreed! 'I Robot' might be nicer eye candy visually speaking on BLU. 'I Am Legend' is a very Dark movie in tone and visuals compared to 'robot' but I enjoyed both tremendously. WIll is a great actor and the portrayal of the different characters are like night and day.

The biggest complaint I have heard about 'legend' was that some people thought the 'vampires' or whatever you would call them looked fake. I didn't think so. The movie is suspenseful as hell and has you on the edge of your seat the whole time.

on a sidenote I also know some people compared 'I Am Legend' to 'Omega man' saying Omega was better. No offense to anyone who liked Omega better but what were you guys smoking? =P

seriously I just saw this over the past weekend and could barely stop from lauging at how ridiculous the movie was.. Charelton Heston being the only good thing about it IMO..

If only 1, I'd go with iRobot. I think the special effects will make it worth showing off (as long as the bit rates are up to snuff anyway).
