This is great news that I've been waiting to hear since Warner decided the war.

As I commented on the article, I have been waiting for this as well! I will be buying this on release day. The August/September timeframe is going to be an expensive month to a month and a half with all the much-anticipated Blus coming out...

I'm guessing it's just an error that the back of the box says all the special features are in 480 right. Some of the special features (like the cartoons) are being presented in 1080p aren't they?

I'm also a bit curious. Is there a reason that the mono track isn't in lossless? Besides the fact that it's a Warner release that is. Would it make much of a difference on a mono track?

I bumped this title to the top of my rental list, so I will be making up my mind on a purchase very soon.

Looney Tunes are HD, other stuff is SD

Because the HD DVD wasn't lossless. Seriously, Robin Hood is so low fidelity as it is, you could throw 192/48 PCM at it and it still probably wouldn't sound appreciably better. I saw a print last year, and this actually sounds better than it did

Whether or not it's mono isn't the issue, it's the quality of the source.

That now makes three Looney shorts that Warner has hi-def mastered (counting March of the Penguins' "8-Ball Bunny"); just fifty more and we have an excuse for a boxset!

(And speaking as one who could recite "Rabbit Hood" from memory since childhood, it's almost worth the purchase alone.)

Even though I already own the DVD (which I don't watch too often, since they show it on TCM so much,) I will definitely pick this up to see how it looks.

I have spoken in the past that I feel it's DVDBeaver duty to encourage and support classic films looking the best they can for home theatre usage. Well, this is it. The Adventures of Robin Hood can look ridiculously strong even discounting its age. It's so beautiful to watch and this Blu-ray is the definitive way to view it in your home. Absolutely recommended.
Will be picking this one up asap.

From that image the aspect ratio is 1.366, not 1.33 as stated there.
