Default Best Buy price drop on Panasonic BD30

Starting Sunday Best Buy is dropping the price of this player to $399. I came into work today and read the email, so it is official. Good deal for those interested in a great player.

Looks like Panasonic is going to have to compete with Sony's 350 for that price point.

Oh - oh - but wait, Blu-ray doesn't have any competition and they are going to keep raising prices.

I wonder if this means Wal-Mart will drop their price as well.
They currently have them for around $450.

Is the Panasonic 30 a better buy than the new Sony 350 if you have a reciever capable of DTSHD MA and TrueHD ?

Well they seems to be both the same speed. If you're interested in Profile 2.0 stuff (internet), the S350 will be update to be compatible with it later this year, while the BD30 is stuck in 1.1

Panasonic is dropping the price to stay in line with Sony's pricng. I thought it was a little later in the month. All stores will be @ $399.99 as Panny is lower their MSRP.

If you are thinking about this model get it today @ 499.99 @ a store that price matches after your purchase plus 10%. Go back and get the adjustment, final price will be 389.99 + tax. Just a thought

I got the 30K for Father's Day and love it. Need to get a price adjustment once it drops.

I picked up the -30k from Best Buy in January. I couldn't be happier! I'm glad they finally dropped the price some, especially with the -50 coming out soon!

10% of 399.99 is not only a drop of 10 dollars :P it would actually be around $359.99

Why not just buy the Insignia? It uses the same chipset as the Panny, plus it has onboard decoders for both Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD MA, if I am not mistaken. Definitely a far better value for the money. A week ago it was on sale for $299 plus a free $100 dollar gift card, plus $100 in coupons (though I don't know if the coupons are any good). There must be something wrong with the Insignia that I don't know about, (besides its ugly appearance)?

The Insignia BD player DOES NOT have onboard decoding of either TrueHD or DTS-MA. It will only bistream those audio formats to an HDMI 1.3 capable decoding AVR.
