multiple dvd's to one blue ray? - Blu-ray Forum

Hay,

I am new at this forum.
I was wondering if it's possible to burn multiple dvd's including there menu's to a blue ray disk?
And will a blue ray player understand this..
Suppose you need to make some kind of overall menu to select the separate dvd's.

does anyone know ore tried this?
Would be a great solution to backup dvd's :P

FYI, it is not "blue ray" it's Blu-ray.

To backup DVDs, all you need is to do an ISO of the DVD you want to backup and then burn several ISOs on one BD-R. You can play the ISOs but you got it backed up.

As for compiling 480p video onto a BD, you can do that too.

Reminds me of the stalls in Thailand selling pirated copies of the entire Lord of The Rings Trilogy on one DVD disc!

I don't know all the technical aspects of how you would go about doing that, but really, why would you?

I guess, I could kind of understand if you wanted to keep all your LOTR , Star Wars, Indy Jones, (etc.) trilogies and anthologies together on one disc for back up purposes, but other than that - why??? You'll still have the SD instead of HD. If you upconvert them then great, but still...

Side note: I love Blu-ray, but my Toshiba HD-DVD player does a much better job of upconverting than my BD player or any other I've seen...not sure if that has to do with the HD-DVD technology being based on the old DVD tech...but that's what I've seen, and why I keep mine - not to mention the 10 movies I'm stuck with in HD-DVD. I have no context but my own, so take all this with a grain of salt...

simple. I have a lot of tv series. And I hate to switch disks all the time.
It would be great to just to put in a disk and watch 2 seasons back to back.
No switching disks, no episode selection (if you dont want it)
Would be nice.

DVD qualaty is fine fore stuff like that. And I would realy like to user the size of the BD for something like that.
