I am in a temporary living situation for a few months. I can't run any cable/wire under the carpet. I want to put 2 speakers on either side of my bed for surround.
My bed is not on a frame, its on the ground. I have a box spring and a matress. Can I run the wire under the box spring or would that be too much weight on the speaker wire and crush it? This would have some of the wire showing in spots, but it would look a lot better than just the wire running along the ground in the open. |

Sounds like a good idea, although using flat wire designed to go under a carpet might be the better choice in any case.

The receiver/tv is about 3 feet in front of the bed at my feet. My thinking was since the receiver is straight in front of me I could just run in straight under the tv stand to my bed and run it underneath and have it come out the back and place the speakers on end tables besides my bed. I know it will be exposed for the 2-3 feet between the tv stand and my bed, but it's better than a mess of wire and the possibility of tripping over it. I just don't want to pinch the wire to the point it doesn't work. I think it'll be fine, but I just wanted to make sure before I bought the wire and ruined it. Thanks! I love the help on this site. |
