Default Japan only anime & movies recommendations?

I was wondering what anime and movies released in Japan only are worth getting? Here's what I'm considering to get:
  • Escaflowne
  • Full Metal Panick
  • Innocence
  • Toki o kakeru shoujo
  • Maou Keikaku Zeoraimer
  • Gundam F91
  • Kumo no mukou, yakusoku no basho
  • Patlabor the movie
  • Patlabor the movie 2
  • Ashita no Joe movie 2
  • Ace o nerae movie
  • Brave Story
  • Metropolis
  • Steam Boy
  • FLAG
  • The Magic Hour
I'm also interested in Gegege no Kitaro (live movie) and Top o nerae, but since these get international releases as well, I'll get those as they are noticeably cheaper.

Are there any other interesting (live) Japanese movies I should keep my eye on?

All suggestions are welcome!

Metropolis is awesome. I love that movie.

Innocense, is that GITS 2? If so, that was good too.

Get Sword of the Stranger (Mukoh Hadan), it's only available in Japan without English subtitles.

Thanks, Metropolis seems awesome indeed so I might pick it up soon.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the title GITS2. Innocense is this one:

Intresting. So the local title is Stranger - Mukou Hadan (ストレンヂア -無皇刃譚-), right? I watched the trailer and that tickled my curiosity.

Ghost In The Shell 2. And following that link, yes it is. Awesome movie if you saw the first Ghost in the Shell. Reminds me of Blade Runner.

Bubblegum Crisis will be coming out in November, I can't wait for that. Not likely to have English subtitles however, unlike the Japanese DVDs which were released by another company (Toshiba, ironically).

Im looking at the new Kimchi deluxe box set for Full Metal Alchemist that is now on offer for $370 usd. Is the series a "must have" or good enough to justify the outlay of that kind of coin?

edit: Well, I've done some rsearch and it does indeed look like an excellent series. I don't think I can justify the price to myself without English subs though. Also, I'm perplexed as to what is and is not, in the set.
If this was English friendly I'd jump on it. Too bad...
