I'm sure you mean "MotionPlus" or whatever the feature is with 120hz sets. The refresh rate is always at 120hz.

Anyway, that's a normal effect of the technology. Just turn it off or set it to a lower setting.

Well, I'm not 24fps capable, but I still saw weird frame judders in some of the Bonds, notably Live and Let Die's title sequence. Is it stored as 1080p24 on the disc?

Most manufacturers recommend 120Hz is OFF for movies since it will have the effect you described.

can you set it to off by input or does he have to do it every time? because that would irritate me

ARGH...

[rant]
120hz is the refresh rate of the set. Just like that most sets refresh at 60x, 120hz LCD's refresh at 120x. 120 being a multiple of both 30 and 24, makes it good to resolve judder. Motionflow, that you can turn on and off, creates that "smoothing" or "unreal" effect. They're not the same thing.[/rant]

Seems like some folks need to read the following thread a little closer so that they understand their TVs better:

Sue me for the incorrect wording. I was typing in a hurry. Yes, make sure any kind of Motion Flow is off.

As for having to switch it off every time, I just have it off for everything, but even if I didn't the XBR4 will turn it off when you press the THEATER button.

I only add this whip, because it should be stickied. I hate that people assume 120Hz enables motion flow....
