Unhappy Before I upgrade

Hello everyone, I currently own a multi region DVD player and a substantial portion of my movie collection are on region 1 dvd's. I am considering upgrading soon to a Blu-ray player.

Are there any makes of player which will also play my region 1 dvd's as well as my other (region 2) dvd's.

Also, are Blu-ray players region locked or will they play films from the US?

Any help or advice would be really appreciated to someone of my advanced years!

Regards

Dr. Evil

1.Yes there are some "china" brands that are all regions.

2.Yes all come locked but they can be fixed.

3. I think you could get more help in the Blu-ray player section of this forum .
