USA PS3 help - Blu-ray Forum

Looking for a bit of advice folks. I'm from the UK and am sick of films I'm waiting for, coming out Region blocked, so I was going to import a US PS3. What i was wondering though was about any firmware updates that i might have to do on it. It might be a really obvious question but can anyone tell me if there are any potential problems trying to update a Region A Ps3 machine in the UK?

I moved to Germany a few months ago and there have been no issues with updating software/firmware on my PS3. I purchased my PS3 in US.

This thread concerns me as well.I am from Bulgaria and I own a US PS3
Does this means that I won't be able to play BD's from Germany and UK?
So far I got only one BD which is region A and all the others which I bought randomly happened to be region free and no probs playing them.
So a reply is vital here :lol:
