Default New update for WinDVD 9.0 Plus Blu-ray

It looks like Corel slipped in an update for WinDVD 9.0 Plus Blu-ray. Once the update is installed the version will be B14.119C00.67214.

http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satelli...=1229440480658

As usual Corel isn't very forthcoming with info on what this update specifically fixes. However, they do list these two items:

I did a quick checkout and notice there still is no BD-Live support however it now supports Windows Aero (when playing a blu-ray it used to revert the OS to Windows Basic until the WinDVD app was closed). Most likely the update also includes enhanced compatibility with newer titles.

Thanks for the information. I wish the Corel Automatic update would work. I just installed the Corel update you posted and Aero now is supported like you mentioned. It is currently the only BLU-RAY player that works with AERO. To bad no BD-LIVE support. I hardly use WinDVD 9.0 anymore since there is no BD-LIVE support.
Thanks again for the info.

I was hoping for BD-Live when I saw the update but no such luck.

Hopefully BD-Live will be arriving soon (early 2009) ... well at least that's the timeframe Corel was targeting last summer.

It's odd that WinDVD 9 doesn't support BD-Live. I have older WinDVD BD 8 for VAIO and it supports BD-Live.

OEM versions currently support BD-Live (including 9.0) but Corel hasn't released this feature for retail users. Corel made BD-live support available to OEM versions last summer.

Usually, retail version gets more support than OEM. So, it is odd that Corel puts OEM ahead of retail version.

well its about time we get Aero support this proves that it could be done Aero desktop and video overlay at the same time.

Now if only cyberlink would only reprogram PowerDVD to support Aero as well.

WTF is wrong with these patches? Whenever I try to apply one, it says it's not for my version. What the hell? I bought WinDVD 9 Plus, not anything inferior.

I'm assuming you bought WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray since WinDVD 9 Plus doesn't have Blu-ray support? This latest update is only available for the Plus Blu-ray version.

Another WinDVD9 Plus Blu-Ray update has just been released. Oh joy!

Link to March update.

note: Provides updates to support a more extensive list of blu-ray titles.

Do any versions or updates of InterVideo WinDVD BD refuse to read BD+R or BD+RE, which are the blanc discs to which hobbyists or small commercial videographers burn the HD work they author?
