Default Getting my Pioneer Kuro soon, Now what?

I have finally made my decision between LCD and Plasma, I went with a new Pioneer Kuro Plasma......Getting my Pioneer Kuro 5020FD next week, and was wondering if a Power Center is essential for such an investment, and a Plasma Screen. I currently have a 5 year old Toshiba DLP in its place and all I got was a "Monster" Power/Surge Bar at that time. (see below)

Monster MP HT800 AC Power Distribution

The salesman is trying to get me to purchase the following "Bar" from Monster. for the new Plasma. (see below)

Monster Home Theatre Power Center (MP HTS1000MKIII) (stating that it will split audio from video etc....limiting feed back noise) I get none what-so-ever with my current setup.

Bottom line I will need another Power/Surge Bar soon anyways, since I will still be using the DLP in another room. But I am debating if I need a top calliber one or is my current one sufficient for the following setup.

Screen: Pioneer Kuro 5020FD (coming next week)
Receiver: Yamaha HTR-6160
Speakers: Bose Acoustimass Six Series
Cable: Rogers Atlantic Scientific 8300 HD-PVR
Blu-Ray: PS3 Sony Playstion 3 60GB
Remote: Logitech Harmony One

Any info is greatly appreciated, He was going to sell me the MP HTS1000MKIII for $175 (CAN) if that means anything.

I like the panamax 5300pm, or you can get the 5400pm with voltage regulation. price is pretty steep though, with the 5300 at $500 and the 5400 at $700. you can look on amazon for a cheaper price.

Excellent choice on the tv.

Are such items really needed? You can get surge protectors with switches and such for much less.. $35. comes to mind.. I know this does more but I doubt this is going to make any difference for most... $500 for a power strip seems kind of pricey.

it does alot more than what a power strip does. and most cheap power strips wont even protect your investment. hope you dont live near lightning lol..

YOU DONT NEED A 500.00 ONE BUT A 15.00 JUST DOESNT CUT IT.WOULD YOU DRIVE YOUR LEXUS WITH NO INSURNANCE...THERES GOOD ONES THAT PROTECT FOR 60.00 THATS ALL ANYBODY REALLY NEEDS NOW IF YOU WANT CONDITIONING AND CLEAN POWER THEN YOU MAKE THE CHOICE OF HIGHER PRICED SURGE PROTECTION.BUT THEN AGAIN WHAT DO I KNOW I HAVE MY TV ON 2 NIGHT STANDS(LOOK AT MY GALLERY)BUT IT HAS A GOOD SURGE PROTECTOR.

Thanks guys for the feedback, HOWEVER I wasn't planning on spending $500 on a Power Center, all I was looking at was a power/surge bar with clean staging. IS this one sufficient?

http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=4445

@ a price tag of $175(CAN) (deal from the sales man) regularly $230(CAN) I guess thats about the going rate for this. We all know Monster is a "monopoly"

OR can I go with another one of these?

http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=592

Whats the main difference between these two?

Thanks again
