Miami Vice - Region Free? - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone know if the UK or Aussie releases of Miami Vice are region free?

No idea, liesinc didn't help much either except tell us that the French release is Region Free. Now, since the distributor is Universal, you can bet the UK and Aussie releases are Region Free as well. Can't help you much more than that.

Just be aware the UK and Aus versions are the theatrical editions.

So does anyone here own the UK disc? Everywhere I've read it says region free so I just picked it up for 12 bucks shipped on amazon UK. Considering they're different cuts, I wonder how the transfers vary or if it's just as good.

Yes, this disc is Region Free and it's safe to assume all the other Universal editions are Region Free as well. The transfer is as excellent as the U.S. Blu. I like both versions of the film but if I had to make a choice I'd go with the theatrical cut.

Yeah, I bought the UK disc a couple years ago(which replaced my Aussie HD-DVD). The transfers of the different cuts are similar looking. I would assume they're from the exact same source. I'm just glad to have a choice which unfortunately isn't that easy with some Michael Mann flicks these days. And yes, it is Region Free.

As it is a Universal release I'd say yes and it also states on here it is..https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Miami-Vice-Blu-ray/832/

Yep definitely region-free because I watched it a few months back. Cost me hardly anything - £6 I think - I fancied the directors cut after seeing the theatrical cut on TV.
