blu ray jerky playback problems on ACER L5100

Hi

I have just bought an external usb liteon blu ray player for my pc

for some reason when I go to play the movie using the software power dvd 7.3 that came with the player the play back is very jerky and slow the blu ray disc is Max Payne, but for some reason the trailers play fine when you first load up the disc

my pc spec is an Acer Aspire L5100
