Why are people so stubborn??????? - Blu-ray Forum

My dad's got a 50 inch SAMSUNG but refuses to hook up more than a DVD player to it, it took me a couple of years to convince him he needed a cable box with an HDMI output, i want him to uprade to BLU but he refuses to do it, I want to go as far as buy him one myself but I know he would never take it..........dick

hah, my dad is currently on the verge of upgrading. He keeps dropping me subtle little questions (like, Why would anyone buy anything but a PS3 for blu-rays). I think he's ready, but without surround sound (the house doesn't really permit it) I think that may be why he's holding back.

Yeah, my Dad wasn't going to get one until he saw his favorite movie playing on my TV in 1080p.

It's interesting how some folks do not have any interest in technology. Probably not a bad thing, but it is interesting.

LOL my parents have a 52" Bravia with full surround sound but they're not movie collectors so I doubt they'll be upgrading anytime soon.

My dad thinks my 19" Samsung isn't Hi-Def because it's so small.

My mother has a 19 in tv that I gave her 8 years ago,has never owned a vhs ,dvd player and has no interest in any tech. (She has basic cable though)

Well if he pays for Bose he must not care much about audio quality either...

My mom's getting new floors. I'm sure that when they get everything hooked back up.... I will have to go over and reprogram the Harmony remote I gave her for her B-day. She has a 52" Sammy plasma, an old DVD player I gave her years ago. an OLD VCR my cousin gave her YEARS ago, an HD satellite box, and an old Kenwood HTiB I gave her. I was surprised when she actually got the HD sat receiver.

My dad had an LG 36" 720 flat panel LCD in his living room for awhile with just a dvd player. After seeing my setup and after his kids buying him a Bluray player for father's day, he went out and bought a banging Sony 50" 1080p LCD and a home theater in the same week.
