Question Pops/cracks in audio when playing Blu-ray

Hi Gurus,

I have the following problem. When I am playing any Blu-ray movie in my laptop, the picture is great, but I hear some pops/cracks in audio about every 3-4 seconds. this does not happen when I play regular DVDs.

Any idea of what might be causing this? Is it a problem with my Blu-ray drive, or is it software or other hardware?

P.S My Blu-ray/DVD-RW drive is Optiarc BC-5500S and software I am using to play it is Acer Arcade Deluxe.

any ideas are appreciated.

thanks

I need your O/S, ram, onboard video card, processor and software player. I will also need your onboard sound card type and what manner you are using to play it (pc speakers - out to a system, internal laptop speakers ect). Then I think I can help you - or at least try

Thanks..here is the info.

Windows Vista Ultimate, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT, Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 Ghz, Player is ACER Arcade Deluxe (came with my pre-installed software). Sound card is Realtek High Definition Audio (has dolby home theatre). I have tried playing audio trough built-in laptop speakers, 5.1 surround output, headphones, and connected to external speakers. Same thing with either one. Problem persists.
I have tried changing my sound card to 24 bit, 192000 Hz (Studio Quality) from 24 bit, 48 or 96000Hz (Studio Quality). Same problem.

I hope I have given you enough info. Please let me know if you need any other settings.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.
