It is a beautiful set. If it wasn’t so expensive and I didn’t already have all the seasons, I would jump right on it. But I can’t justify that expense, even if it is my favorite show. I got all the Best Buy exclusive slip covers, so they’re still kinda unique, right? Lol

That happened to me when I ordered the Harry Potter 4K steelbook box set from Best Buy. I canceled it when the pre-order price never came down. I got the cancelation e-mail, no charge was made, and when I came home from work the Friday after release, there was a box waiting for me.

I opened it and there was the steelbook set in all its glory. I waited a couple of weeks to see if I would get charged, nothing happened, and I was the owner of a free set!

I wouldn't keep it. Getting a free set extra fries with a meal is one thing (especially if I make it all the way home), but straight up taking a huge box set? You know it was a mistake and someone could have been fired for it.

I can't see bragging about it in public, but that is just silly me.

While I agree with you, when it comes to Best Buy it would have been work to "do the right thing." Best Buy has no mechanism to remedy the situation and trying to speak to a rep about it and get them to understand would be a herculean effort. I've been in the same boat since there was a lengthy period where they were always sending out cancelled orders (probably the same period of the mentioned HP steelbook set). I tried returning the first ones I received to the store, but they had no mechanism to transact them (can't return against a cancelled order) and the customer service person did not care. I was totally up front about what happened and was told to keep them.

Online there would be no return options available. I can't even imagine the amount of effort it would take to get a customer service rep to provide a pre-paid return label for a cancelled order.

I do chats all the time. You give them info and they send you a return label.

Drop in mail. No harm in asking what do you get for your troubles. I have got a gift card and I have been told to keep item.

Didn't mean to judge but it really isn't as hard as you think.

Same with Amazon. Online chat takes minutes.

Assuming this'll be back in stock for store pickup on release day? I didn't feel like shipping such a big steelbook set. Planning to try to get this to go with my Harry Potter set and also get the Lord of the Rings set. Think I may go ahead and ship the LOTR set though.

I got mine halfway through the day today and it came in perfect shape. The top of the metal box they sit in was bowed upward a bit but with all the steelbook out of it I bent it back straight. I wish my V for Vendetta came in as good shape.

Would you be able to let us know if any discs are stacked in the Steelbook set? Do all seasons use the case with fours disc nubs like in the picture on the packaging?

Haha! Would love to but it’s a Christmas gift for my GF so it was only opened to inspect for damage and sell off the code. I quickly wrapped it and hid it away under a bed.

There are stacked discs in the Season 8 case. I don’t really understand why because in the other cases there are those plastic disc pages to fit 6 discs each. Season 7 has 4 discs not stacked with no pages (two on each side) then Season 8 has one stack of three on the left and then on the right there are two disc spots with a single disc in one and two stacked in the other.
