While I agree with you, when it comes to Best Buy it would have been work to "do the right thing." Best Buy has no mechanism to remedy the situation and trying to speak to a rep about it and get them to understand would be a herculean effort. I've been in the same boat since there was a lengthy period where they were always sending out cancelled orders (probably the same period of the mentioned HP steelbook set). I tried returning the first ones I received to the store, but they had no mechanism to transact them (can't return against a cancelled order) and the customer service person did not care. I was totally up front about what happened and was told to keep them.

Online there would be no return options available. I can't even imagine the amount of effort it would take to get a customer service rep to provide a pre-paid return label for a cancelled order.

Not yet. Ever since Covid I've had pretty bad luck with Best Buy Shipping. Not the end of the world if it's a day or two late however. I just want to see someone's unboxing photos/videos

I do chats all the time. You give them info and they send you a return label.

Drop in mail. No harm in asking what do you get for your troubles. I have got a gift card and I have been told to keep item.

Didn't mean to judge but it really isn't as hard as you think.

Same with Amazon. Online chat takes minutes.

I'm not talking about Amazon. A simple price match with Best Buy does take "minutes" - 20 minutes! And the last one resulted in me re-ordering the items I was price matching and returning the original purchases.

Nobody is talking about normal returns. I have a hard time believing you have some massive amount of experience with returning items from cancelled orders.

Would be nice if the studio released 4k discs for the seasons that did not originally come with 4k discs. This set is priced fairly but the difference between me buying the 4k discs separately for my steelbooks is over half what this costs.

I got a double of X-men trilogy from Barnes. Called them and they sent me a return shipping label. Got squat.

Got a double of Breaking Bad Part 2 (I was a late bloomer to series). Did the chat because I price match everything. Was told to keep it. I leave a laptop open and watch tv while I wait. Not a big deal.

I too have reordered to get a price. The name alludes me now but it was on Amazon. Peeved me off, but whatever. It does happen.

My experience doesn't have to be "massive" to do the right thing. Just an opinion.
