Actually, that's what I loved during most of the movie. I was so engrossed in the film because of the music. I especially love the music that starts right before the big chase scene. You can barely hear it at first but then it picks up.

James Newton Howard is a brilliant film composer. It's a shame he had to work within the constraints of Hans Zimmer's billionth retread of the exact same theme he uses for every movie. I think the lack of original music was a (minor) weakness in this film, it's mostly just the same stuff from Batman Begins. I would have really enjoyed hearing the use of new music to differentiate the mood of this film from the last one.

The score was great. The parts that didn't include Batman (the Batman theme) were really gripping (I have to agree with mjbethancourt's comment about Zimmer). That's my point,
[Show spoiler]when he's on the Bat-cycle taking a shortcut through the mall shops there is zero score
. I thought an up tempo tense beat would've helped there (it was edited a bit choppy at that point and this may have hidden that point a bit IMHO).

I don't know. I liked the fact that it kept some of the original score of Batman Begins. But you know, I didn't mind the part where he's riding the Batpod through the mall. It was so loud in IMAX, I didn't even realize there was no music.

And I have to get this off my chest: it made me sad when The Joker
[Show spoiler]destroyed the Tumbler
. I knew it was going to happen because I read about it when they first started filming, but it still hit me hard.

I cant believe The Dark Knight is #1 on imdb's Top 250. It replaced Godfather as top dog. I just saw it and i have to say, it was glorious

Well Dark Knight has 26,000+ votes. Godfather 1 and 2 has 250,000 votes each. We'll see what happens.

it will definitely go down, but I think it deserves to stay in the top 20 at least. a great movie with a lot to offer to a wide range of audiences.

I saw it saturday afternoon and my mind couldn't even process everything that I saw...so I woke up and went again for 945 this morning. I enjoyed it a lot more the 2nd time. This is surely a movie that you can spend a lot of time reading into, espcially with the brilliant performance of the Joker's character. This movie was so cool it almost seemed like batman was the lame part of the movie!

So what do you think will happen with
[Show spoiler]the jokers character when they make a 3rd movie?....act like he is locked up...killed himself....vanished....or just move on like it never happend?

I figure scare crow will be in the next one...unless there done using him...he wasnt used much in the movie...and really didnt seem to be as big as a threat as he was in the first one...kinda seemed like a petty thug now. i dont even know what happend to him...he was just sitting there with the batman clones and then never seen him again...

the guy that was going to tell who batman was...could he possibly be a villian later?

and it sucked that they killed rachel...i figured batman was going to go for her. but he went for dent instead?.

The Joker lied to Batman and told him the opposite addresses for Rachel and Harvey.

Batman thought he was going to save Rachel,..but arrived to find Harvey
