[Show spoiler]Well I watched the movie for the 2nd time yesterday and Batman actually says when he is leaving that he was going to Rachel. So what I think happened is that the joker deliberately told the Batman the opposite directions of each other since he knew that Batman was going to choose Rachel.

It doesn't matter if the Joker knows who he is going to choose, it just matters that whoever he does choose, he'll save the wrong person, and everyone will be unhappy. He's causing chaos.

Just watched DK at the IMAX today and IMO the movie of the decade. The Joker definitely was oscar worthy. I can not wait for this on Blu-ray. It will be the top selling Blu-ray until Star Wars comes out on BD in a couple years.

The movie was fantastic from start to finish. Dare I say, best superhero movie ever? I thought Heath Ledger's Joker was absolutely chilling. He added a new definition to the word sociopath. My wife totally loved it too, which surprised me cause she normally doesn't like these kind of movies.

I figure scare crow will be in the next one...unless there done using him...he wasnt used much in the movie...and really didnt seem to be as big as a threat as he was in the first one...kinda seemed like a petty thug now. i dont even know what happend to him...he was just sitting there with the batman clones and then never seen him again...

the guy that was going to tell who batman was...could he possibly be a villian later?
Don't know if he was supposed to be the scarecrow in this scene or not, but I did see Cillian Murphy in close-up in a guard's uniform on the ferry. Could it be an escape ploy?

[Show spoiler] I absolutely loved how they killed Rachel off! I am sick of watching all of these movies and in every single one of them the hero kills the villain, and wins the girls heart and they live happily ever after. In The Dark Night, he not only doesn't win her heart (sends him the letter) ,but she gets blown up to death. Brilliant writing if you ask me. Also, brilliant how the Joker lives and isn't killed by Batman. The Dark Night ruled!

This was a very very good film. I went in with very high expectations, and those expectations were met. To say Heath Ledger's performance was great, is a profound understatement. Something else of note, is that once again, Bale's performance was outstanding.

I loved most of the writing. The flyovers of Gotham looked absolutely brilliant. A really, really great film which I am eagerly anticipated on Blu-ray.

scarecrow was thrown in to show that he was just a small time thug , i think it was to show how tame he was compared to the likes of the joker.

It did! $155 million! Spidey was $152 I think.
Anyways... it broke it by a fair amount!

Did anyone else find Maggie Gyllenhaal to be kind of irritating? I thought she would have been an upgrade from the stiff Katie Holmes, but Gyllenhaal was just always smiling. She didn't have the ambitious, driven, down-to-earth personality that Katie Holmes acted out pretty well. Gyllenhaal just seemed to be out of place, even a little "not with it," if you know what I mean.

I would have tolerated Holmes' side-speaking in favor of her better fitting the role, IMHO.

I really don't think it was as much Maggie's portrayal as the character itself. I just felt Rachel's character to be a weak point in both films (BB & TDK).

i read somewhere on this board that the finals number could be off by $5 million. either under or above. so it could end being more than the estimate or less than the less. if it's less than it may not break the record. today's numbers should put things in focus. either way it did fantastic. nothing can take that away. now it's got to fight to stay on top for the next couple of weeks.
