Default Get Better Audio *newb? settings advice*

Hey guys

Most of you probably already know this... but all this time i didnt know i had my settings wrong

When you go into the settings menu on your XMB go down to Audio settings and then Audio Output Settings and check off all the options

Settings Menu>Audio Settings>Audio Output Settings

I NEVER had all my options checked off, after setting up my friends PS3 i realized i didnt have mine setup correctly and once i checked off all the audio frequencies... WOW its like night/day like lossy/lossless

everything sounds SOOO much better!

Im sure there must be at least a couple of people who haven't set their Audio Output Settings correctly and even if it is only 2 people on here at thats still good enough ^^

so please dont flame the thread for being stupid advice :P

Well I can kinda relate. The first sound system I had the ps3 hooked up to was a panasonic HTIB. So I only got two chanel audio plus the sub. Then a few months ago, I upgraded to a Sony receiver and polk audio speakers/sub setup. Checking everything on the audio settings was the first thing I did HUGE difference than before obviously but the best thing is not only the games but the audio quality on blu-rays.

It all depends on what your sound system is capable of. If you are just listening through the TV speakers, you do not want everything checked off.

are you using a receiver?

Yea, i dont believe there is something to check for the lossless audio, besides having PCM checked, but the auto setup should have checked that for you in the first place.

its supposed to say MPCM. you have to check the player to see what its sending over already decoded. You can run lossless audio over PCM, which is what it sounds like it was doing, if you have a ps3 at least.plIIx is probably the worst setting to have it on for the options you have...

yeah my dad which uses the receiver most, loves having it set to PLIIX cuz he thinks its better -_-

i switch it when i use it, but yeah its never said MPCM until i checked off all the settings.. although you could still hear an a difference between lossy/lossless anyhow yay
