Default New Blu-ray player won't play on new hdtv

I just bought Panasonic's DMP-BD50 and a Mitsubishi WD-65835 tv. I have the bluray player plugged in and when the player is on I get a blue blu-ray screen. When I press play it says loading, stops disc and the blu-ray screen appears again. I have heard of this problem but can't seem to recall what settings I need to look for on my TV or player. I guess it has to do with the copy protection. It is hooked up by HDMI to the TV.
Thanks..

You might want to provide some more details of your set-up for us to help. Have you tried more than on BD? If not, the disc may be bad or dirty.
