I dunno about mad, but yeah.. I know what you're talking about.

Another one is "Blueray" or ANY iteration that's not "Blu-ray".

Ok, not trying to be an ass or anything... but aren't Blu-Ray discs just a newer and better kind of digital video disc? hence... Blu-Ray DVD.

i think some people are a little OCD no? J/K J/K

Unfortunately i think the term dvd will be around forever! Just like people always call hotubs, Jacuzzi (brand name) i think that the majority of people will call all optical discs, DVD. it is just a term that has been etched into everybodies brain.

Ok, rather than delete my posts...

Shouldn't this thread be in off topic? What does it have to do with Blu-ray movies or releases?

It annoys me, but if you think about it Blu Ray is just the trademarked name that sony, et al. came up with. It like getting mad when someone calls a Kleenex tissue instead. As blasphemous as some people might see it, it really is still technically a DVD, digital video disc. Its digital, its video, and surprise surprise its a disc!

But yeah it does annoy me. Im just being the devils advocate.

I don't hear it that much. For now, that's a good way to describe it to people who are new to Blu.
