Paris - France
Default Blu-ray News from France (Fox Pathé MGM Disney)

Well this is my first message, bonjour everyone !!

After some hard times with the HD-DVD supporters, Blu-ray is getting bigger and bigger in France, and we've had some great news from Fox Pathé Europa / MGM / Pathé, I thought you might be interested :

26/09/2007
The Day After Tomorrow (Roland Emmerich)
Independence Day (Roland Emmerich)
Platoon (Oliver Stone)
Renaissance (Christian Volckman)
Les Choristes (Christophe Barratier)

24/10/2007
Predator (John McTiernan)
Commando (Mark Lester)
Robocop (Paul Verhoeven)
Arthur et les minimoys (Luc Besson)
The Hills Have Eyes (Alexandre Aja)
Ne le dis a personne (Guillaume Canet) with english ST

If you want to see the covers, and take a look at the specifications you can go there
http://www.dvdrama.com/news.php?20746&page=1

I guess you know we also have the animation Paprika (Satoshi Kon) out (I just bought my copy) and Starship Troopers on the 1st of August

(sorry for my english mistakes)

Not that I begrudge our European brethren their well deserved Fox titles, but why can't Fox get some releases announced/scheduled in North America if they can in the E.U.?

I'm sure we'll hear some news very very soon from Fox. I've been saying this in another thread: I've already seen 'Return of the Living Dead (1985)' from Fox for pre-order on the internet with a release date of September 11th, 2007. I'm unable to post a link to the pre-order at this time, but we should be hearing some great news from them!

I somehow doubt Fox is only going to be releasing in France. I say let them have the glory of the announcement that shows Fox will be roaring back.

I won't get into any of that who gives a whatever about France stuff, but I don't see any reason why releases should inherently come to the U.S. first. I'm just wondering why there couldn't be an announcement made already, or a simultaneous announcement.

Bienvenue!!

Thanks very much for sharing the news and giving us a link. These September and October dates bode well for releases in North America no doubt!

Thanks Josh for keeping the news page up to date.

Merci beaucoup for the valuable information! The French release of Transporter 2 is the "version non-censurée" which means it will include all violence and sexuality that was cut in the U.S. in order to obtain the PG-13 rating. This is going to be my first double dip BD.
Ne le dis à personne is also a sure buy for me!

This is very selfish. We in the EU deserve some BD love too.
