I'm trying now for the first time, and I'm just sitting in the lobby all by myself. Either nobody else is trying to play, or something is very screwed up.

EDIT: a few other players joined but the room still had 7-8 open spots, then I was kicked to the main menu due to the room being "full".

I'm not a big online multiplayer guy, so it didn't do much for me. Hopefully there will be a single player mode like in the past games.

There is a single player campaign. It was shown at E3.

It's also an alpha. They still have a long, long way to go with making the game.

I finally got in last night and played a few matches. It was fun I just hated have to wait so long to get back in after a match. This is an Alpha so I'm not gonna really complain about that though. Hopefully thats something they are ironing out now so the actual release won't have any issues. It was fun and once you get in the 10 minute rounds seem to go by quick.

Well Doom certainly has evolved since I first played the freeware version in college 20 years ago.

They never sent me a second notice, so the Alpha is a no-go for me.

Tried & failed multipule times to connect. Decided I'll just wait for the real game.

I guess I'm lucky... I got to play a few rounds of the alpha. It looked great, the shooting felt good, but I think at the moment between BlOps3, Battlefront and Halo 5 I'm having FPS fatigue and just couldn't get into it. Looks like the single player will be a blast if the gunplay's the same though.

I do hope that the campaign has more of a story than the trailer lets on. Killing zombies is great and all, but it gets to the point where shooting too many in one area is over kill.
