Talking What's this? Another site going all Blu-ray?

well there was news about this a while back and finaly its come to pass along with some more great news. don't say we did not warn people this is just the breaks.

Early this week I chronicled how Blockbuster had hiffed HD-DVD from 1400 of its US stores in favour of only renting movies in the rival Blu-Ray format. Blockbuster NZ, with its individually owned or managed stores, is hither and zither on the issue. But Scott was just down in Queen Street where JB Hi-Fi - a big Aussie chain - has opened a superstore as a beach-head into the NZ market. Amid the music CDs, MP3 gear, printers and consumerables etc, it's interesting to note that JB is only offering Blu-Ray movies for sale. The drongo sales clerk had no idea what drove this policy, but I'll check it out with JB's Ocker owners once the folks across the Tasman wake up later today.

the one that gets Hollywood Video will gain a little something...

I went to one around my way yesterday and they don't carry either of BD or HD....

I asked her if they carry BD and she said "no...and we don't carry hd-dvd either"..

I was like...damn...she told me..

Sales clerks only know about changes to items being sold when they are told to unbox and display items. She gave an honest response, but don't think that it means too much.

Thanks for the posting. It is interesting to know.

I belive JB initially announced they were ONLY going to carry Blu-ray. Can't remember why...but I think they understood the impact the PS3 was going to have.
