Shipping to Australia? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi guys,
I've just joined up to this forum... I'm currently living in Sydney Australia and was just wondering are blu-ray's region encoded like DVD's?
Would I be able to buy blu-rays in the US, have them shipped over and would they work on my ps3???

Sorry if this thread is in the wrong place but it most suited the topic.

check out this sticky. Great place to read up on whats what. Also, the forum is in the process of updating the database in the movies section so that you will know whether a title is region coded or not.

Quick country/territory reference guide to Blu-Ray Regions:
Region A: North America, Central America, South America, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
Region B: Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
Region C: India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mainland China, Pakistan, Russia, Central and South Asia.
