Problem Playing a PSOne Game on my PS3 - Blu-ray Forum

I am trying to play Final Fantasy VII, one of the best RPGs ever, and when I put it in my PS3 to play it goes to the Playstation Logo and after that it just stays a blank screen. Doesnt even sound like its reading the disc. I have the 60GB PS3 and it is backward compatible. Please HELP ME!!!!???

According to Sony's BC compability site, it SHOULD be fine in update 2.10+

Have you tired any other PSone games?

Its an old game, your disc may be scratched.. or hopefully maybe just dirty.

EVERY PS3 plays PS1 games.

I agree with above posters and hope it can be resolved by cleaning dirty disc. Otherwise, I would guess you have a scratched/defective disc. I am currently playing FF7 on my 60GB PS3 (on disc 2 as we speak) and it has worked fine.

I would also ask if you have any other PS1 games and if so, are they working on your PS3?
