I voted for the Cubs. I'm a Tigers fan and would like to see them get it after exactly 100 years.

The Angels are the team to beat. The only team that can beat the Angels are.....the Angels.

my thoughts:

yes, i picked the angels.

however, there are some big things to consider.

-the tampa bay rays are only 3 games behind the angels, despite the rays playing in a much more difficult division. so are the angels really the team to beat, or are the rays. yeah, they don't have superstars, but they always seem to get the job done. they also have the best record in the bigs in game decided by 2 or less runs i believe, which could be a very key factor in the playoffs.

-the minnesota twins have the highest avg. with risp in the bigs in 45 years and are a fully 20 poins ahead of the second best team in this category this year. this could be a big factor in the playoffs. on top of it, the metrodome gives them probably the biggest home field advantage out of any team, as that place gets L-O-U-D!

- Manny has completely change the face of the Dodgers lineup, plus brought a new attitude to the club, that seems to be working well. they certianatly are not world series favorites, but just the ambience of that team seems like it has something magical to it.

The Brewers are cold, The White Sox are cold, The Cubs are cursed, The Mets will choke and are definately not hot right now and The Astros are hanging on for dear life.

Nothing wrong with Philadelphia or Boston, but Im just not feeling it.

Just some food for thought.

My pick was the Rays. More hopeful than anything.

I'm from New York, so I'm a huge Mets fan, and would love to see them play in the World Series against the Rays, but the Mets are really sputtering to close the season... they may not even make the Wild Card.

As for the Rays... I'm exceptionally proud of them. The investements the new ownership has made are paying off. Their manager is great. I'm really rooting for em.

I've been pretty impressed with the Rays so far. They're in a very tough division and they have played well. The Angels pretty much coasted through the season in their division, meeting little to no resistance. It'll be interesting to see if this benefits Tampa or not.

Well that was an easy vote! Go champs!

Tampa has indeed been very, very impressive. They killed my Sox in Tropicana Field with a record of 8-1 this season. They've handled most of the best MLB teams with ease all year. They're trying to clinch their first ever division title tonight.

So the Sox will start off against the incredible Angels (unless TB implodes) in the playoffs. They've handled them easily in recent playoff history, but this year the Angels look a bit stronger, so it should be a good series.

The baseball playoffs are always hard to predict. I voted the Phillies only because I want to see the National League win this year. The best team on paper is the Red Sox mostly because of their starting pitching. If Beckett is healthy he is as good as unbeatable in the playoffs.

Way to go Red Sox, let's keep that post-season winning streak vs Anaheim going for, let's say, two more games! Great game, John Lester was fantastic.

We were all peeing our pants watching that 2nd inning of the Cubs/Dodgers game last night.

They blow it every year, without fail.
