Will the length of the subwoofer cable have an effect on the Sub output? I totally under-estimated the size of my new ED-A2-300 prior to receiving it. That thing is literally a MONSTER! As of now it is placed along the left side wall, but it protrudes and is in the direct line of fire of my left front. I feel this is not good placement due to it phasing out the sound from my left front...therefore i was planning on placing it closer to my seating area. This allows no interruption of the front soundstage, however I would probably need to use approximately a 30-35 foot subwoofer cable. Is the length of that cable going to affect the output/ SQ???

When i was running a two sub setup, i noticed the volume on the rear subwoofer was lower then the front sub i used a spl meter to confirm this. I was using a 36ft RCA cable so yeah there is definitely some signal loss. I think if you are going more then 28ft the best thing to do might be to get an RG6 coax cable and change the ends to rca, you can get the RF to RCA adpater from radioshack. i believe that using an RG6 cable with rca adapters is a better choice for long cable runs.

http://cgi.ebay.com/25ft-Quad-Shield...QQcmdZViewItem Regular F type video cables with RCA to F adapters can also work. http://www.mycablemart.com/store/car...duct_list&c=73 http://www.mycablemart.com/store/car...t_detail&p=904 Edit: This is not quad shielded, but it should work. http://www.mycablemart.com/store/car...t_detail&p=463 Last edited by Big Daddy; 10-17-2008 at 03:44 AM. |

Iron Man doesn't have much sound, except bass and bullets. From the begining until the end, you hear so much bass that your ears begin to hurt. If you really want to annoy your neighbors, that is the movie to play at 3:00am. Make sure you crank up the volume.

Back in the DvD days, The Haunting rattled the RCA jack board LOOSE in my old Zenith TV.
When the demon, spirit thing is pounding on the door, it went: Pound....Screen went wavey Pound....Screen went Black and white Pound....Picture shot all to hell Pound....Snow and blackness. It wasn't funny then, because it was my only TV, but now...I think that was cool as hell. |
