Default Dell XPS 1530 - Very Nice

Just sharing - the Dell XPS 1530 is very nice when playing Blu-ray's. The picture is superb. Looks like I can reach out and touch the person right there. Amazing clarity and quality. I do have the LED backlit screen so I am not sure if that helps, but it is much brighter and vivid than regular lcd screens I have seen.

If your on the fence about this laptop - don't be. Extremely nice, light and hella fast!

Yeah, some machines do not have generic laptop LCDs.
Many people just don't unnderstand this.

My VAIOs have some exceptional displays as well.
Glad you like your XPS!

I am one of these people who was on the fence about that one!
It just seemed to good to be true! I ended up buying a XPS 420 desktop with ultra sharp 24" screen... that thing looks like a 1000x better than my 52" 1080i RPTV by Sony!
The only thing I don't like so far is Vista though... what a pain in the butt to configure.

Glad to hear that you like your laptop though.

Thanks! I have seen some sony's in my line of work. However I did not think they were all that great. Then again, they were NOT the high end models that most here would purchase so I am sure they are much better.

Good to hear you like your new setup I have the Dell US 24" screen as well. Been loving the dell LCD line since the 07 models. Dell LCD's are the best monitors bar none.

I also only buy Dell laptops. The quality is great, the support is great and you get an excellent machine. Every other machine I have touched (laptop) feels really cheap. It bends/flexes and not impressed, but like I have said - my job puts me face to face with some cheap laptops so maybe it's that? I don't know.

I have one 1440x900 and two 1920x1200...
BDs look great on the 1440x900 and perfect on the 1920x1200s.

Yup. If this was a 17" screen, I would have the 1920x1200. However, this is a 15 and even though I like the higher res, it was not available and I probably would not have picked it. My eyes would bleed. Lol

This laptop is having some power issues as of now. Just got done talking to Dell. A new laptop is being shipped out and this one returned. The computer keeps telling me it does not recognize the adapter and this is the second adapter that has done this. Works fine sometimes, then does not and gives an error. Also, the Dell boot up screen used to be fast, now it is taking 5 minutes to get past that screen.

They wanted to replace the motherboard - which is fine - but it's not going to happen on a machine that is brand new and only 10 days old. So, new machine shipping out soon hopefully.

Problems are to be had. I do not look down on Dell for these issues. Have had some before but when working with thousands of machines a year and only a couple have issues, not bad

I got the same screen on a dell inspiron 1525 and love it. Blu-rays look good all though have not watched alot as I have only had it a couple of weeks and use it mainly at home. I don't have an LED screen, does that make a big difference w/ picture quality?? or just power consumption??

Both from ehat I can see. However I have not put a LED lcd next to a regular lcd 1530 to see. Next 1530 that comes in with a regular one I will check it out.

Love it
