Default vaio laptop yamaha receiver .. HDMI no surround???

well i hope the title explained it all

got a new vaio with blu, hdmi out

anyway according to the manual it doesnt output lossless audio?! wth? anyways

i hooked it up to my receiver with HDMI... and when i configure the audio and do the speaker tests... it doesnt let me choose Surround System... its just greyed out, so i cant even select it :\

so im only getting 2 speaker audio and virtual surround -_-

Default

ok solved it

just incase anyones wondering why they're not getting dolby/dts passthrough

i had to download AC3Filter (specifically AC3SPIDF) and it passes through everything after some setup

wonder why Sony hasnt installed any internal decoding of lossless audio or bitstream of lossless... you would think they would be on top of these things
