Default Would it be possible for Lucas to produce Star Wars 7-9 in his lifetime?

that george lucas would ever finish the star wars series with episode 7-9 in his lifetime or someone else? now i know this thread will draw out all you lucas haters, but i would rather discuss how you think the last 3 movies would be and what you would think the plots would be?

also is there anyone out there that could indeed carry on the star wars series and make it as successful as the first 6? if so who do you think is qualified enought to handle such a series??

be nice and keep it simple please.....

thank you

Someone other than George Lucas should direct/write it (or at least someone should re-write any bad dialogue or scenes that George writes) and it would have 50% less CGI than previous films and more real life sets and characters.

I could see someone else having a go of it down the line, but I dont think Lucas will ever do it.

I never knew there were plans for a third trilogy in that saga.
Personally I'd rather see 3 new Matrix movies because at the end of the Matrix Revolutions
[Show spoiler] humans barely got a truce with the machines but hardly a victory which left me hankering for more

CGI will be hard not to do with all the different worlds in these movies. plus alot of special effects as well. it also saves alot of time as well.

Look at the worlds and locations which aren't totally CGI - usually they're more realistic as physical places. Look at the scenes where the whole set is CGI and you have jedis all in a circle waving lightsabers at nothing - not as good. If you have real actors/stuntmen doing lots of the stunts or things for real it looks more believable. They used physical effects for Lava in one film but totally greenscreen for the last SW film, they could have used physical effects and added CGI to that to make it better as otherwise the actors are just totally in front of a greenscreen so the acting and everything else is less convincing.

i totally agree, return of the jedi fight scene and all the things that happened on endor looked great with no real CG.

Yes, but only if 7-9 is in complete CGI! Like the movie Final Fantasy where it was almost photo realistic. We still have the look of a young-middle aged Mark Hamill, Harrison ford, etc and they also could lend their voices. I dont know just a thought. I wouldnt want to see a recast.

that would probably most interest Lucas. Though he has explicitly said he will have nothing to do with the last 3. I don't even know if he has the rights to them anymore. I could see a Peter Jackson take on them. I don't know if he would ever want to though. Not sure what director would want to take on that responsibility.

The idea that SW was going to be 9 movies was a misquote from a reporter in the 70's, when the reporter asked if he would do sequels George said he might (referring to Ep 1 - 3) the reporter took this to mean 7 - 9 and 1 - 3. There will never be, nor was there ever a 7-9, sorry to anyone who thinks otherwise, you are just plain wrong.

Lucas himself explained star wars isn't about Luke Skywalker, but instead anakin... from his childhood in episode 1 to anakin redeems himself and comes to his end in jedi, ending the saga...
