The real insanity is that the Arrow can be had for $11 and change from Amazon.uk while the TT will cost you almost 20 bucks more for less extras.

It's our 20th anniversary, and I just got this from my wife, and loving the PQ. Audio is a bit muddy at times, but really, an ECO CASE???

I got one with my TT release of The Other. They're charging a $30 premium, and they can't even spring for a real case?!

FFS, how many times does it have to be explained to some people that it was the manufacturer who switched some releases to eco-cases without Twilight Time's authorization?

Regardless of whether it was a manufacturer screw up, once TT found out about the issue they should have started throwing in a free replacement case with orders of the title as a gesture of good will.

TT sells their product at premium prices and market it mainly to collectors. The additional cost for them of a replacement case would have been negligible.

Don't be ridiculous. Although they're disliked, there's nothing defective about an eco-case.

Booklets and paper inserts are more susceptible to damage in an eco case from personal experience.

During transit they are. If they arrive unscathed, what's the problem? If they arrive damaged, send it back and get a new one. I hate eco-cases too but to expect Twilight Time to send out a better case because it's a "premium product "is silly. I have several premium product Criterions in flimsy cardboard packaging and I don't expect them to send me plastic cases just because that's what I prefer.

Why should I have to worry about the insert getting damaged every time I have to move and pack up my collection or something accidentally gets pressed against the case? Obviously it's not like people can't order an extra case if they want to but why should they have to spend an extra buck on something that was admitted to be an error when TT already charges an inflated price for their product. If 99% of TT's catalogue comes in non-eco cases then it's not unreasonable to expect a non-eco case when ordering a TT title. Do you really think most collectors don't have a negative opinion of eco cases being used for higher priced titles? Just look at the Vestron Video thread.

I'm not debating the merits of eco-cases. I dislike them too. I also switch out my eco-cases for non-eco cases. That being said, the eco-cases themselves are not a defective product thus no expectation should be assumed that you will have them replaced for you. Worrying about damage to a piece of paper is your own paranoia and, as such, if it's such a concern then you should be the one to replace the case yourself.

If anyone can make a suggestion.
Since, just me looking into reviews of the qualities of any film.
Which version of this film, Theatre of Blood should I get?
The Twilight Time release or the Arrow release?

If you have region free capability, the Arrow release is the better overall package.

Ok. And yes, I have an all-region blu-ray player.
And either version of it's Arrow release is all the same? Regular Blu-ray or Steelbook?
Since, I already have two Twilight films already.
When the Wind Blows and The Other.
Both good quality, mainly the latter one.
Since, I hear that Arrow releases have better quality and content.
Like, most of the Mario Bava films released in North America I heard we're crap, and people suggested to get the British Arrow releases instead.
Heck, I got some movies in the UK that never came out on blu-ray here yet.
Either if I head to the England to buy them there, or I could just order them on Amazon or their Amazon site with international shipping (depends on certain items) and get it shipped to Canada.

If I'm not mistaken, the actual discs are the same on either Arrow version, so it's up to you if you want to spend the extra money just for a steelbook. It's a larger steelbook so it might not only be expensive but also add extra money to the shipping costs.

The Twilight Time is good quality too. I believe the transfer is the same as the Arrow release. The Arrow has a lot more bonus features and a better booklet. So you have to weigh those options out. Overall with the exchange rates, Twilight Time might be the slightly cheaper option?

I'm in the same boat as you. I am also in Canada and am always ordering stuff from Europe or Australia because there's so much not available here. It's both good and bad, because I remember in the past when being able to do that wasn't even an option!

Plus, I don't think the Arrow release has the isolated music track from Michael J. Lewis (which is a GREAT score).

The Arrow blu also lacks the audio commentary by Del Valle.

Looking at specs it seems the new Kino has a very slightly higher bitrate over the Arrow for the feature but is the same master again. I wish the audio would be restored because it doesn't really sound good on the master that dates back to the source used for the non-anamorphic DVD.

The Arrow has great extras so I'm glad I got it a long time ago but doggone it these new Price film Kino commentaries are enticing....wish they'd sell you just the darn track itself as to not buy the same master anew.

The Kino Lorber release of this won a Saturn Award. Its always nice seeing this film get the love and recognition it deserves.
