Default Hot Deals - Date Posted

I often go into the Hot Deals thread looking for newer deals, but there doesn't seem to be a simple way of weeding out some of the ones that are old news, or EXPIRED.

Would it be possible to add a "thread started" date to either the thread title, or somewhere else associated with the thread itself? I just know with the shopping season coming up (I saw the Black Friday sticky) there should be a lot of deals coming.... just a thought.

Thank you,

Agreed, it is annoying. I'm working on going through all of the threads and making them more organized, less cluttered, locking expired threads, and changing to the proper titles. This won't be a problem anymore very soon.

While your idea is pretty good, you could just click on the first page of the thread and see the date on the first post and go from there.

Most of the time if a deal has expired, people stop posting about it, which means the thread will get burried anyway. So, don't go too deep into older threads, and for any that you do go into, check the date on the first post.

While that is true, unfortunately lately some have resurrected threads from months ago for whatever reasons and it just creates clutter, but that's all in the past now.

2 ideas........
Lock em when they die, write 'DEAD' or "expired" Great Idea!!!

Other idea, more of a suggestion is maybe have a Hot deals brag thread.or a "Look What HOT Deal I just got"....I know kinda pointless but it gives a home for all the 'one time deals' that people brag about, which dont get me wrong its fine to brag, but most of it is YMMV and kinda useless to others

Just a remote idea........

The first suggestion is what I am doing already. The second suggestion is a good idea and would cut down on a lot of useless threads where only the OP is getting a one-off deal. Thanks.
