hooking up macbook to receiver help?

I have hooked my black macbook up to my receiver through hdmi however I have no audio just video. I also purchase a toslink to 3.5mm and have hooked it up as well but again, no audio....any suggestions?

It could be a configuration setting in whatever media player software you're using.

Hi, yes I agree, probably a configuration problem.. also maybe regarding your sound output options.

What format are you trying to output and have you tried different movies, as the sound options may be disabled?

Many factors may be involved, please give as much detail as you can?
