Default Pre-Viewed Blu's at Blockbuster - will it happen?

Blockbuster has obviously become a decent spot to pick up some quality pre-viewed DVD's on the cheap. Has anyone seen their local Blockbuster start to sell pre-viewed Blu's yet or is that something we probably won't see for awhile?

probably not for a while, until they increased their stock so drastically that they need to sell off a ton of stock once their new release period is up.

In Toronto, Canada I notice that Block Buster seems to have quite a few used Blu-rays for sale. Generally priced at $20 Canadian.

"Quite a few" ... maybe 15 titles with 2 copies each.

I will have to go check out one of the Blockbusters here in Montreal, might be so good deals to be made if the copy is in good shape.

Our local Blockbuster is already selling pre-viewed Blu-rays, but they run right under or at 20 bucks, so might as well get them new at amazon.com. I don't see it being a way to get Blu-rays for an especially cheap price, at least no time soon.

My local Blockbuster (Oshawa, On.) has a number of used ones selling at $19.99, but their new prices are a source of a good laugh... $39.99 for a catalog title come on now... But I did see a commercial for them saying to come in on Tuesday to get the new release of Wanted for $19.99... and I have heard this is true for all releases on the date of release....

Used to work at Blockbuster in Canada and they DO sell pre-viewed Blu-rays that are priced $19.99.

New blu-rays are way TOOOOO expensive $39.99 (what master_8ball said)

Also the Tuesday price for new release movies that are 19.99 ONLY apply to Standard DVD.

I've bought 10,000BC, Iron Man, the Incredicle Hulk and another title I can't quite remember right now. I've asked them to show me the disc prior to buying, which they obliged me on. They will give you a return if you get it home and it doesn't play or is damaged. So far, the PV's I've bought were flawless and I very much enjoyed paying only $19.99, instead of $29.99 or higher.

They usually have about 10-15 PV's up for grabs at $19.99 with the odd one at $17.99. I buy at the Marlborough Court/Trafalgar Blockbuster in Oakville.

You are indeed correct clrb15. I checked out WANTED and it was for the DVD version only.

The used discs at Blockbuster Canada do not include the Digital Copy. Apparently they chop them up when they put them up for rent. Once the new release rent period is over the extra copies go on sale for $19.99 without the digital copy. This is confirmed for the Woodbridge (Pinevalley / Highway 7) location about 2 months ago. They said they will be changing this but doesnt seem likely.

One of my local BlockBusters has about 10 pre-viewed Blu's for the "bargain" price of $29.99! And the new Blu's are going for $34.99 and up.

Insane.

Yeah I was joking with the guys at my blockbuster, I am in there about everyday. I was like "when are you guys going to start selling previewed blu rays?...get the 2 for 50 going on!"

It would be a lot harder to do previewed BD though because they only have like 2 or 3 of each movie opposed to the 100 + for cetain dvd titles.

My location has them starting @ $17.99 upto $19.99 max inc titles like Indy 4 and Incredible Hulk. They had a 2 for $50 promo once on DVDs and included Blu Rays. They also had a 25% off promo and it always included Blu Ray. Sorry not promoting Blockbuster but when I see deals I tell them as I see it. Recently Blockbuster was selling NEW Pan's Labrynth Blu Ray for $9.99 which after promo went to $14.99 .. now they are selling The Golden Compass Blu Ray and Kill Bill Vol.1 Blu Ray for $9.99 each NEW.
