Default Xbox 3, Wii 2, PS4

Do you think PS4 for sure will include blu-ray built in?

What about Xbox 3 and Wii 2? I wonder if Wii 2 will stay standard def. Once Wii goes hi def or blu-ray or Xbox 3 gets blu-ray built in, I think blu-ray media will take off like a rocket ship.

I hope Xbox 3 and PS4 also are quieter or at least as quiet as PS3. Xbox 2 is louder than my quiet vaccum cleaner, seriously (I have a super quiet model).

I hope MS has blu-ray built in for Xbox 3. I like some of the Xbox titles not available on PS3 but I stick with PS3 due to blu-ray. I sold my Xbox 2 a long time ago. (I refuse to call it Xbox 360!)

It will never happen. Other gaming consoles will be left in the dust. They won't want to affect their price point by having to incorporate both the value of the technology AND the patent rights for Blu-ray to be included.

PS4 will take the competition by the diodes and squeeze them until they are no longer able to reproduce their motherboards!!!

and he's saying why would nintendo go from a 250 dollar NON-dvd player straight to a blu-ray player. It doesn't make money sense... Nintendo CANNOT compete with PS3 and Xbox on graphics. They don't have the hard-core market and people aren't going to pay more money for HD-cooking mama-3.

you agree? there are people that think blu-ray is going to be so expensive in 2+ years that microsoft and nintendo won't want to put them in their consoles?

and lets not even mention if they didn't that it would be them at an automatic disadvantage.

now that i think about it maybe ps4 will use HVD instead of blu ray.
Follow me here...
Ps1 - CD Rom
Ps2 - DVD Rom
Ps3 - Blu-ray
Ps4 - Any pattern here ?

i don't now about the others but there will be the day that no more drives will be needed and everything will be done online, with massive ( for nowdays ) HDD that save everything on it

Thats definately a good eye. Though in this case if they do not have something better than Blu-Ray they'll atleast have the technology to utilize additional space on a Blu-Ray disc.

For the sake of the used gaming industry and whatnot we can only hope they they stay with a format that we can purchase physically, but what we might see in terms to make publishers money is possibly a digital download era with the next generation...not saying this is set in stone but if you notice PSN already you can buy full games through that already I am sure in the future if the sales of those keep increasing then we might just see a digital era in gaming which would be horrible for many retailers for making profit off the billion dollar industry. But I am sure that Sony will probably stick with blu, Xbox will probably try to make something better than blu ray and totally lose another 2 billion dollars because they are dumb, and we will probably see the next wii using cartidges like the n64 lol nah I am just playing on that one but I can see wii going into like a virtual reality market or something just bananas compared to everything else that the kids will want and no one else.

I really hate the idea of digital downloads. I'd rather go back to VHS...

Let see,
Other gaming consoles will be left in the dust. - Yep agree

They won't want to affect their price point by having to incorporate both the value of the technology AND the patent rights for Blu-ray to be included - Yep agree.

Do I think BD will still be expensive as it is now in 2 years, of course not. But come on, MS couldn't even include WiFi with the 360, how expensive could that have been? They can't include something basic like that and you expect them to go straight to Blu-ray? If MS or Nintendo can find away to stick with DVD media for the next generation, instead of risking a higher price with BD, yeah I think they'll do that.

1. i agree, ps4 wins unless they do something to screw it up for themselves.

2. that just sounds stupid. blu-ray is going to be very cheap, there's literally no reason to not include it. unless something magical comes along to replace blu-ray in 3 years.

3. what does no wifi have to do with anything? and blu-ray isn't going to be expensive enough to not include it. look at how cheap they are now...now add 3 years to that price reduction. its going to be next to nothing to include.
